  • More time to discuss your goals

  • Ample time between your intake and first appointment to create an in-depth treatment plan tailored to you

  • Better outcomes with fewer appointments

Advantages of a Video Intake:

Established Patients

ACUPUNCTURE+

For patients who want the full Chinese Medicine experience: acupuncture (with or without e-stim), tui na, cupping, and gua sha.

Please remember to wear loose fitting clothing.

60 MINS | $95

CUPPING

For patients who do not need acupuncture to be the primary form of treatment, or for patients looking for a needle-free tune-up.

The cups will be placed on your back but can also be placed on other problem spots.

30 MINS | $50

Younger Patients

INFANTS & TODDLERS: AGES 0-3

For the youngest of patients. No needles.

Gentle acupressure, tui na, gua sha, and cupping will be used to help your littlest ones feel better. Shoni shin tools — which were designed with children in mind — may also be used.

60 MINS | $55

PEDIATRIC: AGES 4-9

For young children. Needles may be used if appropriate for their case.

Gentle acupressure, tui na, gua sha, and cupping will also be used to get your child back on track to good health. Chinese nutrition therapy may also be appropriate to get them feeling better from the inside out.

Children under the age of 8 do not receive acupuncture. Children over the age of 8 may receive acupuncture, but needles are not retained.

60 MINS | $65

ADOLESCENT: AGES 10-17

The teen years are already difficult enough to navigate as it is. Fluctuating hormone levels, growth spurts, and illness can make it worse.

Acupuncture, acupressure, tui na, gua sha, and cupping in combination with Chinese nutrition therapy will be used to help your teen better understand their changing body and set them up for better health as they continue to grow and mature.

60 MINS | $75

Payment and Insurance

Payment

Full payment is required at time of service. Payments may be made in advance in the patient portal.

Cash, check, credit, and debit are accepted.

Insurance

Middle Earth Acupuncture does not participate in insurance.

If you have acupuncture benefits under your insurance plan, you can request a superbill to submit to your insurance company for reimbursement.

  • A superbill is a detailed receipt that you will receive from the office in your email inbox. The document contains all the necessary information (provider’s information, diagnostic codes, and service codes) for you to get reimbursed by your insurance company.

  • Unfortunately, as we will already have received payment from you for your treatment, we cannot submit the superbill on your behalf. The reimbursement from the insurance company must be made directly to you.

  • Medicare and most health insurance companies have an online patient portal that will allow you to submit the superbill and track the claim. You can also reach out directly to your insurance company through the number on the back of your insurance card to find out where you can submit the superbill.

  • This depends largely on what your insurance will cover. For example, some insurances will cover the full cost of treatment, while others may only cover the acupuncture and not the manual therapies like tui na, cupping, and gua sha.

Even if your insurance doesn’t fully reimburse you, Middle Earth Acupuncture strives to keep the portions that insurance might not cover at around the average cost of copay for a regular doctor visit.
